The LFI Downflow Booth is a self contained system providing the highest levels of operator protection from potentially harmful airborne contaminants generated during potent or non-potent manual powder/compound handling operations such as: weighing and sampling of raw materials, manufacture of tablets and capsules, packaging, charging and dispensing. Achieving low OEL’s without the need for supplementary protection, the booth also provides product protection from surrounding area contamination by creating a clean processing zone minimizing cross contamination risk from other products/processes. The booth is designed to be fitted with a moveable operator barrier to achieve locally lower OEL values, if required.
The vertical laminar flow provides up to an average of 135 FPM of Laminar HEPA filtered air, which is then exhausted at the rear of the booth, through high-efficiency primary HEPA filters, Bag-in / Bag-Out optional, and recirculated down through secondary HEPA filters housed in the ceiling grid. A percentage of fresh makeup air, typically 10% of volume, is induced into the recirculation cycle as the corresponding amount is bled off. Operator protection is provided to 50 µg/ m3.
